Heirarchies of the various Genus and Character synopsis of Ramakian Figures.
The various characters in the Ramakian story are many. They can be divided into four main categories;
Devas and Gods
Yaksa (or Asura) Giants, otherwise known as Rakasa
Humans
Vanora (sentient humanoid monkeys)
Mythical Himapant animals (such as Nok Sadayu, Ratchasri etc)
Of these four categories, each has its various subtypes.
For example, the Humans have various roles which are represented, such as the Ruesi Hermit sages, who have magical powers and great wisdom. Another example is the fact that although the majority of Vanora monkeys form the army of our hero of the story (Pra Ram), some other Vanora are indeed of Yaksa heritage, and have the Yaksa features as far as facial appearancee goes. So it is true to say that there are both Humanoid, and Yaksa types of Vanora monkeys.
The Humans, Vanora and Yaksa have their family lineages and heirarchies, which are listed in great detail.
This section will contain subpages with synnopses of all the various characters to be found in the Ramakian Epic, as well as diagrams of the family lineages of each type of being (Humans, Yaksas and Vanora).
Here are some of the Characters already covered on the Ramakian Portal;
